ENSEMBLE

The AXIS Ensemble is a collaborative new music group that seeks to smoothly unite a variety of musical traditions and styles. In adapting, choosing, or creating pieces, we strive to blur boundaries between written and improvised, performer and audience, concert and event. Past performances have taken place in concert halls, music clubs, galleries, and the great outdoors.

We founded AXIS in 2007 as fellow graduate composition students at Tufts University. Our activity on the Tufts campus culminated in April, 2008, when we organized and performed in a 24-hour music marathon filled with concerts and musical happenings across the campus.
